How the Digbeth Trust is Governed and Managed
The Digbeth Trust Trust is a membership organisation (membership is free). Members may vote at the Annual General Meeting. Trustees are elected from the membership, which currently stands at around 130 members, a quarter of which are individuals and about three quarters are organisations.
A committee of volunteer trustees (the Board) elected from the membership, manages the Trust and are also its directors. One third of trustees stand down at the Annual General Meeting. From time to time, the Board co-opts additional members with a particular expertise or area of knowledge.
Trustees are entrusted with a “duty of care.” They are responsible for the overall governance of the Trust and for ensuring the effective day to day management and administration of the charity.
