Mental Health Grants 2009-10

(someone to love, something to do, something to look forward to)


This grants programme aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing (low level anxiety and depression) of residents in the Heart of Birmingham Teaching Primary Care Trust area. Submissions are welcomed from voluntary and community organisations based in the Heart of Birmingham Teaching PCT area, which currently includes the following wards:

Aston, Handsworth Wood, Ladywood, Lozells and East Handsworth, Nechells, Oscott, Perry Barr, Soho, Sparkbrook and Springfield.

Grants of up to £7,000 will be available for selected projects. For 2009 there will be two funding rounds. Below are the closing dates for expressions of interest for both:

Round 1: 5pm on Thursday 4th June 2009

Round 2: 5pm on Thursday 29th October 2009

Programme Guidance

We are holding mandatory briefing sessions, the aim of which is to engage with organisations prior to submission of an expression of interest, answer any questions you may have and make proposals stronger. The expression of interest form can only be obtained at these events unless you attended a briefing in 2008. If you have already attended a briefing session for the 2008-09 programme you do not have to attend again and will be sent information and application documentation to apply for this year’s programme.
